1. Excavation - Prepare the excavation by adding 4" - 6" inches to over all length and width of box. The depth should be a minimum of 6" inches deeper than the height of the box. 2. Installation - Level and fill bottom of hole and compact material. Level so that the top of the box will be flush to grade when using material such as gravel, (or recommended materials by agencies). These materials are recommended because of their draining characteristics. Place box in hole. 3. Backfill requirements - Place selected backfill material with rocks no larger than 3/4" inch. Compact either mechanically or by flooding, whichever is in accordance with governing agency. Note: It may be necessary to brace inside of box walls while you are backfilling the hole.
